    The Gaming Brief:

    • RTX 5090 listings have crossed $10,000 in the US, nearly five times Nvidia’s $1,999 MSRP
    • Best Buy shows the card completely out of stock; Newegg and Amazon carry it only through third-party marketplace sellers
    • A Moore’s Law is Dead source claims Nvidia is targeting a 2027 RTX 6000 (Rubin) launch, earlier than the previously rumored 2028
    • AI buyers purchasing RTX 5090 units in bulk for servers are cited as a key factor squeezing gamer supply

NVIDIA’s GeForce RTX 5090 has become nearly impossible to find at its official $1,999 MSRP, with third-party listings on Newegg, Amazon, and European retailers now stretching past $10,000, per Tweak Town.

Best Buy shows the card entirely out of stock, and the cheapest available unit on Newegg, an MSI Ventus model, still runs $6,549.

With upgrade costs reaching enterprise levels, gamers are being forced to extend existing hardware lifecycles, putting long-term hardware longevity and component degradation back at the center of PC building discussions.

RTX 5090 Scarcity Traces Back to AI Server Demand, Not an Official Price Hike

TweakTown reports the steep pricing stems from limited availability rather than any MSRP change from Nvidia itself.

A contributing factor: pallets of brand-new RTX 5090 units have reportedly been ending up in AI server deployments instead of gaming PCs, pulling flagship stock away from retail channels entirely.

On PCPartPicker, Amazon listings for the card currently range from roughly $6,300 up to $11,500 for the Inno3D X3 OC variant, with most listings capped at limited quantities, the report says.

A Gold-Plated ASUS ROG Astral Variant Tops $11,999

TechRadar notes the ASUS ROG Astral RTX 5090 runs $9,659 on Newegg through third-party sellers, while the gold-plated “Dhahab Edition” of the same card reaches $11,999.

European buyers face a similar squeeze; TweakTown separately reported RTX 5090 prices in Europe surpassing €5,000, more than double the card’s MSRP.

Meanwhile, unverified gray-market listings offer modified 96GB cards for buyers seeking cheaper VRAM alternatives.

RTX 6000 (Rubin) Rumored for 2027, Earlier Than Previously Expected

A source cited by YouTube channel Moore’s Law is Dead, via TweakTown, claims Nvidia is now targeting a 2027 launch for its next-gen RTX 6000 series, internally tied to the Rubin architecture.

The source attributes the lack of leaks to tighter internal control at Nvidia rather than a stalled timeline.

No confirmed specs, model names, or pricing have surfaced, though speculation points to hardware built to better handle the performance demands of DLSS 5-style neural rendering.

Given current RTX 5090 pricing and an industry-wide VRAM supply crunch, there’s no confirmation yet on what an RTX 6090 might cost at launch, forcing gamers to weigh competing GPU feature sets and pricing much more carefully before planning their next build.
